La France au tapis ! Les « Lionnes » du basket continuent leur marche vers les sommets. Elles ont battu les Françaises en demi-finale et retrouvent la Roumanie en finale. Avec l’espoir de donner au Sénégal sa première médaille d’or aux 6ème Jeux de la Francophonie. Tel est aussi le rêve du boxeur Mbacké Sarr qualifié pour la finale des 75 kg.

Encore trois médailles, ce week-end pour les représentants sénégalais aux 6ème Jeux de la Francophonie qui se terminent demain à Beyrouth, au Liban. Mais le précieux métal se fait encore désirer. Une médaille d’argent avec Fatou Binetou Fall (52’’90 au 400 mètres) et une de bronze pour Ndèye Fatou Soumah ( 53’’21 dans la finale de la même épreuve) et une autre du même métal décroché par le relais 4X100 mètres hommes d’Oumar Loum, Mouhamadou Lamine Niang, Alassane Diallo et Abdourahmane Ndour (en 39’’87) derrière le Burkina Faso et Maurice. L’athlétisme a donc accru sa moisson après les 2 médailles d’argent (Ngima Faye au 100 m haies et Ndiss Kaba Badji à la longueur) et les 2 de bronze (Mouhamadou L. Niang au 100 m et Mamadou Kassé Hann au 400 m haies).

Mais la récolte sénégalaise n’est pas encore terminée puisqu’au moins 2 médailles d’argent vont tomber dans l’escarcelle des « Lions » avec la finale du basket féminin que disputera l’équipe coachée par Moustapha Gaye et celle des 75 kg de boxe à laquelle s’est qualifié Mbacké Sarr. Les « Lionnes » du basket ont écarté en demi-finale la France (74 - 59) et retrouveront pour l’ultime étape la Roumanie qui les avait battues en match de groupe (49 - 55). Ce sera donc l’occasion pour les Sénégalaises de prendre leur revanche et de boucler de la meilleure des manières leur préparation au championnat d’Afrique des Nations Dames de basket qu’elles jouent à partir de cette semaine à Antananarivo, à Madagascar.

Quant à Mbacké Sarr, après avoir sorti en demi-finale le Marocain Barky Ahmed, champion d’Afrique de sa catégorie, il peut logiquement rêver de monter sur la plus haute marche du podium des 75 kg, même si son adversaire français n’est pas né de la dernière pluie.Le Soleil
